This design brief for this rear garden was to create an architectural beer garden, based on London roof terraces.

The aim was to make a strong connection between the house and garden, providing a multitude of useable spaces. The existing garden provided no functional space and would not work alongside the new house renovations to include new glass sliding doors and a floor to ceiling window.

The proposed garden was designed on an angle, allowing the space to be easily divided. To break up the terraces, strips of evergreen planting were used which also provide scent when walked upon. Planting of wild perennials and vegetables will be mixed together throughout the garden creating informal planting areas, broken up with the use of bespoke metal panels. Design features include an outdoor wine rack, ice bucket and BBQ terrace.
