Garden Design – Meriden Close, Poole, Dorset

With vast and wide sea facing views, this coastal garden design in Poole has been created to create and outdoor living experience that match the luxury new build development. We worked directly with the home owners throughout the planning, creative and detailed design stages. The garden was completed in the Summer / Spring 2022.

The garden will take advantage of the panoramic coastal views with a formal garden area with natural stone terraces to ease the transition from indoor to outdoor living. A central modern swimming pool with its own composite deck for sun lounging and surrounded with large planting beds helps create a Ibiza themes garden ideal for entertaining. The interlocking and surrounding paths, constructed from clay pavers help blend the natural materials of the stonework on the property and the modern details within the design and architecture.

The planting throughout this garden design in Poole has been specified to cope with the coastal elements. All the plant species are drought tolerant varieties. This ensures that they are able to cope during the warm summer months without constant watering as well as maintenance. The use of drought tolerant, coastal loving plants enables the garden to blend in with the surrounding environment as well as creating stunning views from the property.

The key to this garden design in Poole was to ensure that the spaces combined a modern, Ibiza style with a naturalistic feel. Further down the garden a network of mown paths will meander through a surrounding native wildflower meadow with feature textured shrubs. These will provide interest during the winter months until the wildflowers start to take over and create an amazing backdrop to the garden.
